HIPPER FREIOS HAS A SUCCESSFUL DEBUT IN THE HB20 CUP SEASON IN CAMPO GRANDE

Notícia 22 Mar 2024

The supplier of brakes for the HB20 Cup since the creation of the category was approved in a very hot first stage in Mato Grosso do Sul.

The Hyundai HB20 Cup opened its 2024 season last weekend with the double round held in Campo Grande (MS), at the Orlando Moura International Circuit. In addition to the races, which brought together more than 40 cars, the event marked the start of another season in the category for Hipper Freios, supplier of brake discs since the creation of the category.

It was a weekend with the ambient temperature reaching 35ºC. The category held two races on the weekend, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday, and saw good contests on the 3,513-meter circuit in the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul. With regard to brakes, the discs produced by Hipper Freios are characterized by the use of Niobium Steel in their composition, which allows for greater mechanical and thermal resistance. In addition, there is Hipper Grinding, which facilitates the pre-seating time of the insert.

Hipper Freios ambassador and 12-time Stock Car champion Ingo Hoffmann points out that in front-wheel drive cars, such as HB20 racing cars, making good use of the brakes is important, even with the need to use the engine brake.

“Although a front-wheel drive car uses the engine brake a lot, it's very important for the driver to know how to use the brakes. In cars with front-wheel drive and radial tires, if you hit the brakes hard, you can block the tires very easily. So the brakes are used with the gear reduction, and that makes a difference to the handling of the car”, said Ingo Hoffmann.

Marcelo Zebra, a driver in the HB20 Cup since the category was created, has had the Hipper Freios brand on his car since 2019. The competitor, who is in his sixth year in the championship, highlights the importance of the partnership with the company from Santa Catarina.

“In 2019 I signed with them as a driver, and months later I managed to get them on board as a supplier for the HB20 Cup. It's a pleasure to have a sponsorship that people relate to me when they see the brand. I receive photos from followers in the most inhospitable places in Brazil, saying that they use Hipper Brakes because of me. We started the sixth season with discs with Hipper Grinding technology, which eliminates pre-seating, and Niobium Steel technology, which keeps our brakes at the ideal temperature”, said Zebra.

The round of the HB20 Cup held in the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul saw victories for Alberto Cattucci and Marcus Índio in the Pro class, Pedro Garcia and Vasco Pedro in the Elite class and a double win for Uli Dias in the Super class.

The next round of the HB20 Cup will be held at the Ayrton Senna International Autodrome in Goiânia (GO).
