As a result of important actions for sustainability, Hipper Freios has received the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Certification, which aims to identify, monitor and control the impacts of a company's activities on the environment. The aim is to minimize adverse impacts on the environment while maximizing economic benefits and social welfare.
Throughout 2023, Hipper Brakes went through the stages of implementing the necessary measures. At the beginning of 2024, the company underwent a rigorous four-day audit by BRTUV, the body responsible for ISO 14001 certification, which assessed all the company's processes, built on internal initiatives, in conjunction with the relevant Environmental Management Systems Certification bodies.
“Our fundamental principles are to manufacture sustainable products and to carry out social responsibility projects, with the company making an effective contribution to society”, said Gilson João da Silva, director-president of Hipper Freios.
Hipper Freios invests in and works to reduce the environmental impacts of its production, with concrete measures such as selective waste collection; correct disposal of all waste generated by the company; controls on the emission of particulates generated, with exhaust fans at all stages of production; periodic analysis of groundwater; lectures and training on the environmental impacts generated by the company; definition of an environmental policy; reduction of noise pollution from machinery; and control of black smoke emissions from cars and trucks entering the company.
“The ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification is above all an achievement that we dedicate to society as a whole, because it is people and the environment that gain from building sustainable processes that are essential for building a better future for everyone”, concluded Lucas Fenilli, Materials Engineer at Hipper Freios.
