One of the main education incentive projects is back, after the interruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The 5th Hipper Math Challenge was launched this Thursday (4th), at Espaço Conviver Dona Tarcília, at Hipper Freios headquarters, in Sangão (State of Santa Catarina, southern Brazil), with the presence of directors, teachers, and educational planning teams from participating schools, in addition to representatives of the Local and State Department of Education. The company promotes this activity since 2016 with the purpose of stimulating and reinforcing the importance of education for the development of children and adolescents in the city.
Winner of the “Empresa Cidadã” Award, granted by the Marketing and Sales Association of Santa Catarina (ADVB/SC), in 2017 and 2018, the social project is aimed at students enrolled in the 5th, 6th and 7th grade of public state and city elementary/high schools. The project counts on the support of the State Department for Regional Development of Santa Catarina and also of the Department of Education of the city of Sangão.
The 5th Hipper Math Challenge will be held in two stages, where two tests will be applied at the participating schools. On August 15th, a test with 15 objective multiple-choice questions will be applied, and on September 23rd, another test with four discursive writing questions. Application for the challenge is free, and must be completed by parents or guardians.
The prizes include 9 travel packages for the winner plus an accompanying traveler to Balneário Camboriú and Parque Beto Carrero, 3 notebooks, 12 smartphones, 3 speakers, medals and certificates of participation. The result will be announced on October 10th and the awards will take place on October 26th.
The company's CEO, Gilson João da Silva, emphasized “The Hipper Math Challenge makes our company proud, as it values knowledge as a key factor in the search for a better future for our children and young people”. He recalled that in 2019, for example, the student Nycolas Serafim Alves won a gold medal at the 15th Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad in Public Schools – the first medal for a student from Sangão/SC in the history.
“As a private company, Hipper Freios is concerned with putting into practice its social responsibility towards the community, as a way of providing benefits to the city that welcomes us so well”, said Jefferson Pereira, communication supervisor at Hipper Freios.
